Referees Corner:
EDYSL is always looking for referees for our Club games.
Refereeing is a great way to make a little extra money, get some
exercise, and help the club. You have to be 12 years old and
take the referee certification class. We especially need
ADULT REFEREES!

New Referee Training
Referees must attend a training class to become a Certified
Referee. The class is a 16 hour class that is typically held on
4 evenings and a 2 hour field session. EDYSL sponsors classes
every year. Each class is open to first 30 people to register.
Go to EDYSL's class registration page and sign up for an entry
level referee class that is scheduled for this year. The
following classes are currently scheduled.
To become a Referee you must:

Be a minimum of 12 years of age and in the 7th grade. |

2) |
You must attend all 4 evening classes and 1 field class for an Entry Level Referee Clinic. |
| 3) |
You must be willing to study the "Laws of the Game" outside of the class. |
| 4) |
You must pass (75%) a 100 question entry level examination. |
Prior knowledge of Soccer is
useful but not necessary. Youths and adults are reimbursed for games that they referee.
Referees are required to wear an
official referee uniform when refereeing a game. The purchase
and cost of this uniform is the responsibility of the referee.
Returning Referee
Information
If you have not renewed your certification this year and
received your new referee patch, please visit the renewal link
at: www.cnra.net.
Remember,
you must register every year and the cost is $40.
Returning Referee Refresher training is being
mandated as a requirement by EDYSL this year. All returning
referees will need to attend a refresher course. The course is
free of charge. Go to EDYSL's class registration page and sign
up for a referee refresher class that is scheduled for this

Each of EDYSL's clubs has a referee coordinator. These
coordinators are responsible for the organization, scheduling,
and reimbursement of Club referees.
