Chuk Odorfer was a father who wanted to be involved in his children’s lives. Volunteer’s staff recreational sport leagues, so Chuk volunteered. He was a soccer and little league coach for many years.
He helped to form High Sierra Soccer Club and served as their first president for several years.
Chuk believed the leagues were there for the children. It was a place for them to have fun and to learn skills, such as sportsmanship and teamwork, which would serve them throughout their lives.
On the field, having fun was important, but being a good sport came first. He stressed this to each of his players and teams, but above all, he lead by example.
A plaque will be presented to one team in each age group at the award ceremony. This will take place at tournament headquarters following the consolation and championship games.
